Hm...um... [ that's a hard question. he skips it. ] I mean, people kind of expected someone to die, right? It could have been anyone. [ and that's that. ] Do you think he was a Temporal or a Celestial?
From what I've been told by the watchers, they've both been lead to believe they're working to protect the universe, and their own worlds as well in the process.
My guess is that this has all been orchestrated to put the Temporal Watchers and Celestial Watchers at odds, and that they'd then push us into murdering one another. So I doubt eiher's the 'good guy'.
[He considers that and shrugs.] No clue how that'd work. But like I said, I'm guessing Qi Rong was chosen just like this killer probably was. It's a working theory, though, so I could be wrong.
[He could lie here and say, "Oh, I would never kill anybody!" But he's made it clear that's not true.]
It'd depend on a few things. What they're offering, how much of what they're saying is bullshit, if I've actually got a hope in hell of getting away with it alive.
I got a promise to keep. I don't have time to die for someone else's stupid fucking battle.
Well...I think that they probably have some power...but I think that it's probably high risk probably low reward? Especially when you consider the chances that someone else might just kill you even if you get away with murder.
[ he does appreciate spike's honesty, actually? he's not put off by it at all. ]
It reminds me of going to the casino, a little. Unless you really know how to play your cards right, the House is almost always going to win.
Seems to me that killing's the easiest way to ensure you don't get out of here alive. Though, apparently we can send messages to the dead, so maybe it's not as permanent as we'd maybe expect.

If I had to hazard a guess though...
I'd say he's probably Temporal. Celestial's gotta retaliate somehow, y'know?

[ but he doesn't sound surprised. it's just commentary for him. ]
I mean, if that's the case, what if someone took their own team member out? Wouldn't that be awkward?

[ hmmm ]
What would you do if they asked you to kill someone?

Can't imagine it's a good fate, however.

Why don't we just ask them?

[He shrugs.]
Might as well give it a shot either way.
